Mika Matsukubo and Alex Vreeken were named the Queen's Gaels Varsity Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Matsukubo (Health Sciences) helped Queen's Women's Rugby cap their sixth straight undefeated regular season with a big 89-0 win over the McMaster Marauders this past weekend.

Matsukubo led the Gaels in tries in the win with four.

Queen's earned a bye through to the OUA semifinals by virtue of their undefefeated regular season and will host the semifinals on the weekend of October 18.

Vreeken (Kinesiology) continued a strong season under centre for Queen's Football, helping them win their fourth straight game over the weekend, 27-17 over the Guelph Gryphons.

Vreeken finished the win 20-28 for 273 yards and two touchdowns.

Queen's Football is on bye next weekend and will close out their OUA regular season on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m., hosting the Windsor Lancers at Richardson Stadium in the Homecoming Game. Fans can buy tickets to the game on the Queen's Gaels Tickets website.
