Athletics & Recreation mourns the loss of Jeff Kyle, Queen’s Football alumnus

Athletics & Recreation and the Queen's Football program were saddened to learn of the passing of Jeff Kyle on April 18, 2024, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Kyle was a Queen's Football alumnus, member of the Red Banner Society, and Chair of the Sports Marketing Advisory Committee at Queen's.

Kyle played for Queen's Football from 1980-1984, helping Queen's win three Dunsmore Cups at OQIFC Champions. Kyle was remembered for a key interception in Queen's 1983 Dunsmore Cup win.

Kyle had an outstanding football career at Queen's, and developed lifetime bonds with his Queen's Football teammates.

After graduating from Queen's, Kyle was part of a team of business leaders that successfully brought NHL hockey back to Ottawa in 1990. Kyle helped build the Ottawa Senators' brand over 20 years as the team's vice-president of marketing.

Kyle is survived by his wife Joanne, his children Cody and Jordan, father Bill, his siblings Jay (Lori) and Kelly (Dan), and his nieces and nephews.
