KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 23, 2023) – Maggie Banks and Marcus D'Acre have been named the Queen's University Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances with Queen's Rugby over the weekend.

Banks (Coquitlam, B.C.) scored a game-high four tries in Queen's Women's Rugby's 45-5 win over the Western Mustangs in the OUA semifinals Friday night at Nixon Field.

With the win, the Gaels advanced to the OUA Championship this coming weekend, where they will take on the Guelph Gryphons.

D'Acre (Mississauga, Ont.) helped Queen's Men's Rugby cap their regular season with a big 97-6 win over the McMaster Marauders Saturday afternoon at Nixon Field.

D'Acre led the way offensively for the Gaels with three tries, bringing the season total up to five.

With the win, the Gaels finished the regular season with a 4-2 record, good for third place in the OUA standings. Queen's will host the Trent Excalibur in the first round of the OUA Playoffs on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.
