Queen's Rowing earn four gold, one silver, one bronze at Head of the Trent

Queen's Rowing opened their 2023 season in Peterborough, Ont. Saturday, capturing four gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal at the Head of the Trent Regatta.

Julia Teixeira (Toronto, Ont.) earned gold in the Women's Lightweight 1X and Julia Schuurmans (Toronto, Ont.) earned gold in the Women's 1X. Schuurmans and Isi Ferguson (Kingston, Ont.) also captured gold in the Women's 2X and Teixeira, Nicole Schmidt (Walkerton, Ont.), Emily Pain (Kingston, Ont.), Brigitte Gaudert (Ottawa, Ont.), and Gillian Jansen (Welland, Ont.) won gold in the Women's Lightweight 4+.

The Men's Lightweight 2X crew of Alex Abicht (Kingston, Ont.) and Lucas Celia (Grimsby, Ont.) earned a silver medal for Queen's while the Women's Lightweight 2X crew of Pain and Gaudert took home a bronze medal.

Queen's Rowing alumna Rebecca Hisey also earned a bronze in the Women's Alumni 1X.

Queen's Rowing will return to action in two weeks at the Brock Invitational in St. Catharines, Ont. on Oct. 14.
