Queen's Men's Golf wins OUA Championship

Queen's Men's Golf captured the OUA Championship Friday at Cherry Downs Golf Club in Pickering, Ont.

Queen's won the tournament with a final team score of +3, nine strokes ahead of second place finishers, Wilfrid Laurier.

The Gaels' Zachary Greifenberger, Michael von Schalburg, and Nick Pacione all finished with a round of 70 (-1), two strokes behind the top finisher, Windsor's Thomas Demarco (-3). Greifenberger was Queen's top finisher and second overall via the Golf Ontario Tie-Breaking Policy. von Schalburg finished fourth and Pacione fifth.

Greifenberger, von Schalburg, and Pacione were all named to the OUA Men's All-Star team. Queen's Kristen MacLaren was named the OUA Men's Golf Coach of the Year. Queen's Golf is coached by MacLaren as well as assistant coaches Jeff Crowe and Andrea Blackwell.

Queen's Women's Golf finished fourth in the OUA Championship with a final team score of +47, 22 strokes behind the champions, Western.

Rachel Demaine was the Gaels' top finisher with a round of 82 (+10).
