Richard BurtonĀ (Ottawa, Ont.) is the Queen's University offensiveĀ player of the week.Ā Burton continues his rise as a top receiver in the OUA, achieving his third straight 100-yard game this season. Burton made seven catches for 101 yards and one touchdown in the Gaels loss to Laurier.Ā His performance on Saturday vaults Burton to third in the OUA in receiving yards with 507.Ā
Tyler RoyĀ (Burlington, Ont.)Ā Ā is theĀ Queen's defensive player of the week. Gaels defensiveĀ lineman Tyler Roy had the best game of his Gaels career making 7.5 total tackles and one pass breakup. The Gaels defence had a lot to deal with against OUA leading rusher Levondre Gordon who eclipsed 100 yards in the game. Roy was a constant presence making necessary tackles for the Gaels. Ā
Ben ArhenĀ (Brampton, Ont.)Ā is the Queen's University special teams football player of the week. With the Gaels down 32-3,
Ben Arhen broke free against the Golden Hawks with a highlight 100-yard kick return touchdown before halftime lessened the deficit. Arhen went untouched on the play, making a quick cutback at the Gaels 25-yard line before sprinting down the sideline and into the end zone for the touchdown. The return was tied for the sixth-longest in Queen's history as Arhen ties Paul Correale ('97), Bob O'Doherty ('75) and Randy Zaricny ('87) who all had 100-yard returns.
