Blugh joined the Queen’s coaching staff in 2011 after spending seven seasons with Bishop’s University as the assistant coach for one year and head coach for six years.  During 2007, Blugh was honored with the QUFL Coach of the Year award after leading the Gaiters to their first winning season in ten years. A former defensive lineman who played fifteen seasons in the Canadian Football League for two different teams, Blugh was the winner of the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian Award in 1996, is a two-time CFL West Division All-Star and won the Grey Cup with Edmonton in 1993.  Blugh was chosen in the first round of the 1989 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos after a successful University career at Bishop’s that included a Presidents’ Trophy win in 1988.
