Queen's Women's Hockey Head Coach
Morgan McHaffie was named the OUA East Division Coach of the Year for the 2025-26 season, the conference announced on Wednesday.
McHaffie was one of five Gaels to earn a major award from the OUA for the 2025-26 season.
Sophie Hudson was named OUA East Division Most Valuable Player,
Scarlett Nowakowski was named OUA East Division Defenceman of the Year,
Emma Tennant was named OUA East Division Goaltender of the Year, and
Jada Wood was named OUA East Division Rookie of the Year.
"Morgan being named East Coach of the Year is a testament to her dedication. I've had the privilege of playing under her for my five years and seeing her take on the role of Head Coach with such ease and pride was inspiring to all of us," said Queen's Women's Hockey team captain
Sophie Hudson. "This achievement reflects how Morgan was able to elevate our team standard, instilling our core values and a level of belief and accountability that pushed each of us to grow both as players and as people, in just her third season as Head Coach. We are so proud and happy for Morgan, knowing this is the first of many East Coach of the Year accolades."
McHaffie led the Gaels to an OUA East Division best record of 19-5-1 in the regular season. Under McHaffie, Queen's was third in the OUA in goals per game, at 2.73, and fourth in the OUA in goals against per game, at 1.99. The Gaels were also ranked No. 8 in the U SPORT Top 10 this season.
