Queen's Cross Country won three major individual awards to go along with their two team titles for the 2025 OUA Cross Country season.

Jude Wheeler-Dee (Chemistry) was named Men's Runner of the Year, Madison McDermott (Arts & Science) was named Women's Rookie of the Year, and Head Coach Mark Bomba was named Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday.

Wheeler-Dee earned the individual gold medal at the OUA Cross Country Championships with a final time of 23:26.7 in the 8 KM race. Wheeler-Dee was with the lead pack for the first three laps of the four-lap course before pulling ahead and cruising to victory, six seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

McDermott was the top finisher of all first-year athletes on the women's side at the OUA Cross Country Championship, finishing 17th overall with a final time of 28:49.0.

Bomba led the Gaels to a sweep in the OUA Cross Country Championship, winning both the Women's and Men's overall titles, at the championship meet held at the Gaels' home course at Fort Henry in Kingston.

It was the first time a school has won both the Women's and Men's titles at the OUA Cross Country Championship since 2015, and the first time ever in Queen's Cross Country program history.

The Gaels will close out their season this weekend at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championship in Sherbrooke, Que.
