Queen's Artistic Swimming

The Queen's Artistic Swimming Club was flying high this weekend both literally and metaphorically as they made their way to Winnipeg this weekend to compete at CUASL Nationals. Overall, club athletes earned many personal bests and a majority of routines achieved a place in the top ten.

In the Experienced tier, Claire Christie and Caitlyn Nichols gave an exceptional performance with excellent synchronization and secured a seventh place finish in the free duet competition. Also swimming in this event were Meghan VrKoc and Noémie Guindon-Riopel who energized the judges with their Great Gatsby routine and earned ninth place.

Soloist Sarah Taylor swam beautifully and showed off her musicality in her free routine, which earned her ninth place.

The Experienced team ended the weekend on an extremely positive note after an amazing swim at finals that moved them up two places from prelims and granted them a fourth place finish for the team free event.

In the Novice tier, the team demonstrated their resilience in learning many new skills this season in their fight for a personal best score. They earned eighth place for their technical routine in what was a very close competition.

Novice athlete Margarita Liubetskaya also ended her four-year tenure in the program with an incredibly strong performance in the technical solo competition that showcased both her power and grace.
