Queen's Squash

This weekend, The Queens Women's Squash team travelled 5 hours and had the opportunity to play both Western and University of Toronto women's at the London Squash Club. We arrived Saturday night to prepare for matches bright and early the next morning at 9am!

The 9am game was against the Western Women's Squash team. There was excitement regarding the matchups at the first two positions, as they stemmed from some junior rivalries, with Ashley Hall (western) versus Gabby Waite (queens) at position 1 and Maggie Davis (queens) versus Katie Boulanger (western) at 2. The matches were tight, and our girls put up a fight but western took the win 5-2. Each of our 7 girls played good squash and made the Gaels proud. Special shoutout to Co-captain Julia Nash for coming away with a 3-1 win! The matches against Western Women were super fun and the girls look forward to hosting them at the next crossover in January.

Next, the girls played University of Toronto at 11am, the matches were close, and, in the end, University of Toronto took the win 6-1. Honourable mention to rookie Sage Eberhard for winning both of her matches! We are very proud of our girls for supporting and helping coach each other. Queens women definitely had the loudest cheers this weekend and are looking forward to hosting the next crossover on our home courts!
