Emma Tennant and
Luka Syllas have been named the Queen's University Varsity Sports Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances with Queen's Women's Hockey and Queen's Men's Basketball this past weekend.
Tennant (Pointe-Claire, Que.) combined for 50 saves over the weekend, including a 19-save shutout, to help the Gaels sweep their weekend road trip with a 2-1 win over the York Lions Friday night and a 2-0 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues Saturday night, and improve their record to 15-12-1-0 for the season. Tennant's save percentage was .980 over the weekend.
Queen's Women's Hockey will open the OUA McCaw Cup Playoffs Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Toronto, Ont., taking on the Varsity Blues in Game 1 of their Best-of-Three OUA Quarterfinals series. Catch all the action live on

Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) had two huge performances for the Gaels over the weekend as they swept the Ottawa schools and secured the No. 1 seed for the OUA Wilson Cup Playoffs. In Friday's 89-88 overtime win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees, Syllas led all scorers with 27 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds and five assists. In Saturday's 77-69 win over the Carleton Ravens, Syllas poured in 17 points while also recording six rebounds and five assists.
Queen's Men's Basketball earned a bye into the OUA Quarterfinals, which they will host on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC). Tickets for the game can be purchased now on the
