Queen's Rowing Assistant Coach
Kathleen Rankin was named the Ontario University Development Coach of the Year at the Row Ontario Coaches Conference this past weekend.
The prestigious award is voted on by Ontario University coaches at the OUA Rowing Championships and presented annually to one female and one male coach.
"Kathleen is simply indispensable to the Queen's Rowing Team, and in her other role coaching our development team and running our novice program, she provides the organized, reliable, and empathetic leadership that those athletes need," said Queen's Rowing Head Coach
Scott Feddery. "All the successes that our development group had this fall can be traced either directly or indirectly to Kathleen's leadership."
Rankin helped Queen's Women's Rowing win the OUA Championship in 2024, while Queen's Men's Rowing finished fourth overall. It was the second straight year Rankin and the Gaels captured the OUA Women's Rowing title.
The Queen's Rowing staff were also named the OUA Women's Rowing Coaching Staff of the Year at the October regatta.
