KINGSTON, Ont. (April 21, 2023) – Two Queen's Rowing student-athletes qualified their boats for the 2023 Pan American Games with their results at the Pan Am Qualification Regatta in Santiago, Chile this week.
Shaye de Paiva (Calgary, Alta.) won bronze in the Women's W2x event with partner Kristen Siermachesky. The podium result qualified Canada in the event for the Pan Am Games later this year.
Hubbard (Calgary, Alta.) finished sixth overall in the Men's M1x event to qualify a boat for Canada for the A final at the Pan Am Games.
"We're proud of Andrew and Shaye for all the work they've put into this and are excited to see what they do next," said Queen's Rowing Head Coach Katie Bruggeling.
The 2023 Pan Am Games are scheduled to be held from October 20 to November 5 in Santiago, Chile.
