KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 28, 2022) - Rebecca Thompson and Cole Syllas have been named the Queen's University Varsity Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Thompson led all scorers on Queen's Women's Hockey with two goals and two assists as the Gaels split their weekend series and earned three out of a possible four points against the No. 6 ranked Nipissing Lakers.

Thompson finished Saturday's 5-4 overtime win with one goal and two assists before adding another goal in Queen's 4-3 overtime loss to the Lakers on Sunday.

Syllas recorded two double doubles for Queen's Men's Basketball as they swept their weekend roadtrip to remain undefeated on the season at 7-0.

In the Gaels' 77-73 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday, Syllas finished with game-highs in points (25) and rebounds (15) while also recording five assists, three blocks, and two steals.

In the Gaels' 90-49 win over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Syllas scored 14 points, grabbed a game-high 21 rebounds, and added seven assists.
