GolfÂ
Queen's golfer Michael von Schalburg lead the Queen's golf team with two tournament event wins this past weekend. On Saturday at the Gaels & Gryphon Invitational at Trillium Wood Golf Course in Belleville, von Schalburg shot a -3 score of 69 (par 72) to claim an individual victory for Queen's while the men's team was also able to capture first place.
The women's team finished in fourth place, just 5 strokes out of the bronze position, as Jasmine Mussani finished third overall and shot a +7 score of 79.
von Schalburg followed the first-place performance, with another victory on Sunday at the Bert Kea Invitational at Cataraqui Golf Course with a -1 score of 69 for his second win of the weekend. The men's team was able to reach the podium again with a third-place finish. For a second day in a row, the women's team again finished in fourth place, just 5 strokes out of the bronze position. Melissa Ramnauth was the top performer for Queen's who shot a 12 over par 86 (par 74 for women).Â
Field HockeyÂ
Queen's played three games this past weekend looking to extend their winning streak, following a season opener victory.
On Saturday, the Gaels faced two of the top teams in the league: the University of Toronto Varsity and Guelph Gryphons. Despite their best attempts, the Gaels conceded two losses.
On Sunday, in the pouring rain and hungry for a win, the Gaels took to the field against the Western Mustangs. After a scoreless first quarter, Western opened up the scoring with an early goal in the second quarter. Third-year Isabel Mastantuono found the back of the net to tie up the game. The Mustangs pushed back with a quick second goal, but Queen's responded with a stroke penalty shot from Abby Beaton. In the third quarter, a tip by Leigh Janssen off a short corner allowed the Gaels to take the lead. Queen's extended their lead with two goals from Brooke Ritchie and Ella King to secure a 5-2 win at Tindall Field.Â
SailingÂ
The Gaels sailing team traveled to Annapolis, Maryland this past weekend to complete in the United States Navy Academy's Shield's Trophy Regatta and finished in seventh place.Â

LacrosseÂ
The Gaels had a busy Saturday at Ontario Tech this past weekend, as they squared off against Trent and Ontario Tech.
The Gaels started off the match slow, as Trent scored an early 3-0 lead. Despite putting a lot of pressure on Trent in the second quarter, the Gaels trailed 6-2 going into the half. Queen's built momentum in the second half, chipping away at Trent's lead, but despite numerous chances late in the match the Gaels came up short losing 10-8.  Kiah Shanks scored four goals and Jordan Kummer added three goals to lead the Gaels offensively.Â
In the afternoon game, the Gaels faced a much improved Ontario Tech team. The two teams traded goals back-and-forth for the entire game, with Ontario Tech leading 9-7 heading into the forth quarter. The Gaels took the lead in the final quarter to pull out a 12-10 win. Queen's had scoring from 7 different players, including Kiah Shanks (4G), Christina Holmes (2G, 1A) and Molly Fisher (2G). The Gaels are back on the road to face Laurier next Saturday.
The Queen's Gaels men's lacrosse team were in action in the nation's capital against Ottawa on Saturday. The Gaels defeated the Gee-Gee's 7-1 and return to action next Sunday against Bishop's University at Tindall Field.Â
Fastpitch
The Queen's Gaels fastpitch team were in action this past weekend against the Carleton Ravens and Ottawa Gee-Gees at Garrigan Park. The Gaels swept both series defeating Carleton 21-10 and 11-3 on Friday night. The Gaels continued their dominant performance against  Ottawa on Sunday winning 6-2 and 8-4.Â
Cycling
The Gaels had podium finishes and lots of great performances despite the rain and mud. Men's A was almost a full sweep taking places 1,2,4,5 and 6. First year student's Jack Ciotlos finished 4th and Matt Birchard just behind that.  In the Women's A, first year Kaitlyn Shikaze finished in third. Eric Yuyiting finished first in the Men's B, and in Women's B JJ Toole finished in first place, follow by Erika Rankin in second. Full results can be found
