Queen's Field Hockey kicked off their OUA regular season with two wins over the weekend, while Women's Lacrosse grabbed two more wins and Queen's Golf had another solid tournament showing
Queen's Field Hockey
Queen's Field Hockey travelled to London, Ont. this past Saturday to play their season opener against their rivals, the Western Mustangs. The Gaels came out strong, keeping possession for most of the game. Queen's came out with a 2-0 win, with both goals scored by

Kate Martin had a strong first OUA game with an assist and multiple of circle entries.
The Gaels followed up their season-opening win with their home opener on Tindall Field this past Sunday against the McMaster Marauders. Queen's came out with intensity, and captain
Monica Johnston put in a goal during the first quarter. Following close behind, second-year
Ainsley Sheahan scored in the second quarter. The Marauders came out hard in the second half of the game, but the Gaels were able to hold them off and ended with a 2-1 win.
Queen's Field Hockey is excited to travel to Guelph next Saturday to take on the Guelph Gryphons before hosting the Waterloo Warriors at Tindall Field on Sunday.
Queen's Women's Lacrosse
Queen's Women's Lacrosse continued their strong start to the season with two wins over the weekend at Ontario Tech in Oshawa, Ont., defeating the Western Mustangs 19-3 and the Brock Badgers 18-2.
In their first game against the Mustangs, the Gaels started strong in the first quarter with four goals (Kiara McKelvey, Jaedyn Smail, Charlotte Sawicki, and Victoria Murray) before going on to score six more in the second quarter to take a 10-2 lead at half time. Queen's held on to the lead through the second half, scoring another nine goals to finish at 19-3. Top scorers for the Gaels in the win included McKelvey (five goals, three assists), Tara Meikle (three goals, two assists), and Sawicki (three goals).
In Queen's second game, the Gaels opened with another four goals in the first quarter (Brooke Rutledge, Kenna McKee, Abby Lee, and McKelvey) before adding two more goals in the second quarter from Smail and Avery Ludlow to take a 6-1 lead into half time.
Queen's was fired up in the second half to score 12 more goals, finishing the game with an 18-2 win.
Top scorers against Brock included Sawicki (five goals, one assist), Smail (three goals), and Lee, McKee, and Rutledge with two goals each.
Queen's Golf
Queen's Golf competed in the Brock Invitational this past Sunday at the Sawmill Golf Course.
The Women's Team showed once again that they are the team to beat this season! In her first start, Gella McDaniel, birdied her final hole of the day to shoot 83 and contribute to a 234 total which put Queen's one stroke ahead of Laurier to claim their second Gold of the season!
Katie Neville shot her competitive best, 74 to claim individual Gold.
The Men's Team showed great fight yesterday. After being 17 over as a team on their first 5 holes, they adjusted to a firm and fast golf course and were a combined 2 over on the remaining 14 holes to finish with a score of 304 which earned them the bronze medal behind Brock and Laurier.
