Queen's Field Hockey's Lauren Breakell named OUA All-Star

KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 25, 2024) – Queen's Field Hockey's Lauren Breakell was named an OUA All-Star for the 2024 season, the conference announced Friday.

Breakell (Health Science) appeared in all 10 games for the Gaels this season at midfield, recording one goal.

"Lauren has been an integral member of the Queen's Field Hockey team since her first year in 2021," said Queen's Field Hockey assistant coach Sara Ali. "From the beginning, Lauren has made significant plays on the field, passing to generate offensive opportunities, and stickhandling past our opponents. Lauren has been a quiet leader on our team and stepped into the role of Captain for the 2024 Season. Not only does she lead on the field with strong communication and game-knowledge, but she also leads off the field ensuring our incoming athletes feel welcomed and overall looking after her teammates. Lauren has also been the field hockey representative on the Varsity Leadership Council at Queen's for the past 3 years. Lauren started in every game this season and rarely came off the field, her impact was significant in every game and this all-star is well deserved. The coaching staff is very proud of Lauren."
