Both teams enter play at 0-0 kicking off their seasons. The Gaels did win an exhibition while Carleton lost one. In 2016 Queen's finished with a 3-5 record compared to a 6-2 mark for the Ravens.
Yes, the Gaels and Ravens both took part in non-conference exhibition games before the start of the OUA season, but the two games were vastly different. The Gaels hosted McGill here at Richardson Stadium last Saturday where fans were treated to a 38-24 win for the home side. For Carleton, they were on the road travelling to Quebec City to challenge the defending Vanier Cup champion Laval Rouge et Or. Laval proved to be as strong as ever, even in the pre-season, dismantling the Ravens to the tune of 46-2.
The last time these two teams met was the final game at the old Richardson Stadium and the last game to be played on grass in the OUA. The Gaels hosted Carleton in the OUA quarter-final round after finishing one spot ahead of the Ravens thanks to their victory over Carleton to start the 2015 campaign. The Ravens got their revenge, however, knocking the Gaels out of the playoffs with a 39-8 win.
This weekend marks the 55th meeting between these two teams. The Gaels lead the all-time series 43-11-0. Since Carleton has returned to U SPORTS football, the Gaels are 2-1 against the Ravens.
Head coach
Pat Sheahan is narrowing in on a couple of milestones in the win department, with 95 regular season and playoff wins at Queen's, and 149 regular season and playoff wins in his career. A win to start the season would put the current longest serving U SPORTS football coach at the 150 mark.
Men's Soccer
The men's soccer team concludes their exhibition play this week and will get an early start to their OUA season when they visit UOIT on Sunday at 1 pm. That game can be seen live on

So far Queen's has a 1-3-0 record through four exhibition games with all four being decided by just one marker. The Gaels lone win came over Toronto last Saturday in a 5-4 penalty kick result.
Sunday sees the Gaels look to open up their season with a road victory at UOIT. Last year the Ridgebacks finished with a 3-7-6 record compared to a 7-5-4 standing for the Gaels. The two school's met each other twice in conference play with the Gaels winning 3-1 on the road and tying in a 5-5 result at home.

Queen's is coming off an Old Four title with a pair of victories knocking off Toronto 4-0 and Western 1-0.
Jenny Wolever (Toronto) was the star striker for the Gaels potting a pair of goals against Toronto and the lone winner against Western.
Women's Rugby
