The Queen's women's rugby team, who in November host the CIS national championship, will begin their season on Sunday September 13th at home against the defending conference champion McMaster Marauders. The Gaels are coming off a 4-1 season which saw them finish 2nd in the Russell Division before eventually losing to Western in the OUA bronze medal game.

The Gaels 2015 campaign outlook remains strong after last year's disappointing end. They will be making their fourth CIS national championship appearance in team history and will look to better their previous result when they took Bronze back in 2013. The Gaels will once again be led by Beth Bars who is entering her 12th season as Head Coach with an impressive overall career season record of 41-11. Accompanying Coach Bars on the sidelines will be Coach Sean Dunleavy and Blake Wilson returning with the Gaels to continue their work with attack and defence. The Gaels 2015 lineup will look towards their two returning All-Canadians and OUA All-Stars Gillian Pegg (Oro Medonte, Ont.) and Lauren McEwen (Wasaga Beach, Ont.). OUA All-Star Miranda Seifert (Regina, Sask.) and Emma Chown (Barrie, Ont.).

With a mix of key returning veterans and the debut of some well-regarded recruits, the Gaels will be looking to win their first ever CIS National Championship this upcoming fall.

Quote from the head coach:
