Queen’s Rower finishes fourth representing Canada at FISU Games

GWANGJU, South Korea - This summer, Canadian University's most talented rowers represented Canada at the FISU Games in Gwangju, South Korea. The Gaels were represented by Chloe DesRoche (Calgary) and Matt Christie (Ottawa).

DesRoche just missed the podium finishing fourth overall in the women's four race alongside Elizabeth McConnell (University of Victoria), Jessie Loutit and Catherine Multari (Western University). This was DesRoche's first appearance on the international stage for Canada.

"The University Games were such an incredible opportunity," said DesRoche. "As my first international racing experience, it has motivated me to push for a lot more and hopefully I will be competing for Canada again in the future. Slightly disappointed to miss the podium, but proud of how we did against such tough competition. Many of the crews in the A final having previously raced at the European Championships and World Cup circuit."
