Last week the Alberta Rowing Association announced the 30 athletes who will represent the province at the 2013 Canada summer games.
Three Gaels rowers were named to the team as William Kennedy (Calgary), Robyn Finley and Stephen Holloway (Calgary) will all represent Alberta at the Canada Summer Games August 2 to 17 in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Also at the Samsung World Rowing Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland Nick Pratt had a strong finish to come second in his semi in 7:05.31. Pratt - who is new to this event at the international level - ended up sixth in the A final in 7:03.23.
The lightweight men's four finished fourth in the C final, or 16th place overall. Members of this boat are Gaels rower Rares Crisan (Mississauga, ON) along with Brendan Hodge (Delta, BC), Eric Woelfl (St. Catharines, ON), and Graham Schenck (St. Catharines).
