HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England (July 5, 2010) – Current Queen's rower Katya Herman of Sudbury, Ont., advanced to the semifinals of the Princess Grace Challenge Cup this past weekend at the Henley Royal Regatta.

Herman, who was racing with the Canadian women's quad boat, helped her crew to defeat an Italian boat in the quarter-finals. However, the Canadian crew could not advance to the finals as they lost to Gloucester R.C. & Leander Club.

Former Gael Mike Wilkinson of Vancouver, B.C., also advanced to the semifinals in the Stewards' Challenge cup with a victory over an Argentinian crew in the quarters but could not get past the Princeton boat representing the USA. Morgan Jarvis of Kingston, Ont., failed to get out of the quarter-finals after losing to Japan.

Finally, Rares Crisan of Mississauga, Ont., advanced to the quarter-finals before bowing out in the Silver Goblets and Nickalls' Challenge Cup.
