Gaels winless in Saskatoon

SASKATOON (October 16, 2010) – The Queen's Gaels walked away winless at the Graham Construction Shootout over the weekend losing all three of its games against Canada West opponents.

In their opening game on Thursday, the University of Calgary defeated Queen's 84-58. Chris Barrett of Vancouver had a game-high 17 points, followed by Brandon Baronaitis of Toronto with 12 points and Timothy Boyle of Belleville, Ont. with 10. Four Dinos scored in double digits including Matt Letkeman with 14 points, Tyler Fidler at 13 points, Andy Rochon at 12 points and Keenan Milburn with 10 points.

On Friday, the Gaels took on the defending CIS champion Saskatchewan Huskies and were dealt a devastating 84-34 loss. Bernard Burgesson of Port Hawkesbury, N.S and Barrett mustered most of the offence for Queen's recording nine and eight points respectively. Trevor Nerdahl led the Huskies with 17 points while David Neufeld pitched in with 13 points and six rebounds.

On Saturday, the Gaels dropped their third in as many days losing 70-56 to the Brandon Bobcats. Boyle was the Gaels leading scorer with 13 points while rookie Jerome Josz of Chevy Chase, Maryland broke double digits with 12 points.

Brandon countered with Kyrie Coleman posting game high 17 points while Isaiah James & Wallace O'Brian tallied 11.

Queen's will look to rebound next weekend at the annual McGill Tournament where they will contend against the University of Western Ontario, the University of Prince Edward Island and host McGill University. The Gaels kick off that event against Western on Friday with tipoff set for 8:00pm in Montreal.
