AMS Student insurance covers 60% of Athletic Therapy, Massage, Chiropractic and Registered Dietitian appointments up to $400/year.
Student health insurance also covers 100% of a mental health practitioner appointment up to $1000/year.

While not free, the reasonable clinic appointment fees allow us to staff many Athletic Therapists, two Registered Massage Therapists, a Chiropractor and an excellent administrator.
Please inform us if there are any financial barriers to receiving any of our services.
The best way to minimize the risk of infections and complications is to be fully vaccinated and get boosters when eligible. COVID boosters can be booked through KFL&A’s COVID-19 vaccine website. Flu shots can be booked at KFL&A’s immunization clinics website.

Safe Sport
Safe Sport is about creating a healthy, positive, safe training and competition sport environment that by its cultural nature is free of maltreatment and abuse. Queen’s Athletics & Recreation have been proactively embracing the policies, principles, and direction of Safe Sport for several years, through a mix of education by experts and the True Sport module, along with improving the policies designed to ensure healthy, positive and safe training and competition environments (ie. Background screening and ethics policies).
This year Queen’s A&R has ramped up the education with the support of Allison Forsyth, a two-time Olympian & eight-time national champion (Alpine Skiing), who is a Safe Sport survivor and now one of the leading experts in Canada. Allison has delivered in-person education directly to over 100 staff and coaches in August, followed by tailored in-person education to over 1000 student-athletes from varsity teams and clubs in September.
All Gaels student-athletes can continue to learn more about Safe Sport by completing the “Gaels Safe Sport Education Course” by following the instructions below:
- Go to onQ Self Registration.
- Scroll down and complete registration for Gaels Safe Sport Education Course.

In addition to the Safe Sport training and to demonstrate the commitment to Safe Sport Queen’s Athletics has taken the Responsible Coaching Movement Pledge entailing three pillars (Rule of Two, background screening and ethics training). That are each designed to help ensure a sports environment that can remain safe and fun for everyone.
