NEW: Queen’s can provide early admission offers based on grade 11 marks
Please note: Published averages correspond to minimum requirements (based on prerequisite courses) for admission consideration for September 2014. Applicants are admitted on the basis of grades as well as supplementary information, so it is possible that students who satisfy the published minimums may not be admitted as preference is given to applicants with the strongest overall qualifications.
All applicants to Ontario universities are required to apply through the
Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC).
Applications open on
OCT. 5 and Queen’s will continue to accept applications until February 1. We recommend our recruits apply by January 15.
Tip: You should apply through OUAC as early as possible – the sooner you apply, the sooner you can begin completing your next steps and be considered for an offer!
Consider a 2nd or 3rd Program Choice If you apply to a program where competition for a limited number of spaces is relatively high, you should consider applying to a second (or third) program which will serve as your alternate option.
If you want to add, delete, or change your program choice after already submitting your application on OUAC, the step-by-step process can be found
here.
To accept your Queen’s offer on OUAC, view a step-by-step guide by clicking
here.
Submitting TranscriptsIf your high school is capable of sending electronic transcripts through OUAC then this is the easiest and preferred method of sending. You will be prompted to submit transcripts through OUAC during the application process. This will ensure your transcripts get sent upon applying, after first semester, after April midterm and final transcript in July. If you cannot submit official transcript through OUAC please use one of the following options below. Email:
admissions@queensu.ca Fax: (613) 533 6810
*Please note only send via email or fax if school is capable of sending official transcripts in these methods

Unofficial Transcripts
It is always a great idea to send an unofficial transcript to the head coach. This allows Athlete Services to review your academic profile. You should send us a final grade 11 transcript and your completed first semester of grade 12 transcript and 2
nd semester courses for review.
Using SOLUS Shortly after applying through OUAC, Queen’s will send you instructions for accessing the Student On-Line University System (SOLUS). You will be asked to activate your NETID. Once you are able to login check SOLUS regularly as it is the primary way the Undergraduate Admission Office will communicate with you about the status of your application. SOLUS is also where you can view your “To Do List”, which tells you what documents Queen’s has received and what documents are still outstanding. Login and familiarize yourself with
SOLUS.
TIP: If you have not received an email from Queen’s upon applying please check your junk mailbox as the email may have gone there.
Personal Statement of Experience (PSE) |
At Queen's, we want to know all the things about you that make you unique. That's why, as part of the application process, we want you to submit a
Personal Statement of Experience so you can tell us what your marks don't. The PSE is mandatory and taken very seriously for all undergraduate applications to Queen’s and we recommend that you submit it no later than
February 15. Queen's will be making a limited number of early offers of admission (by January 15), and to be considered for one of these offers you must submit your PSE and complete all items on your To-Do List by
December 1. Some programs (Concurrent Education, Commerce, Kinesiology, and Physical Education) require a
Supplementary Essay which must also be submitted at the same time as your PSE. You will submit your PSE through SOLUS.
Tip: Since the strength of your PSE is a significant piece to your application, spend time polishing your answers and keep in mind that PSEs and Essays are evaluated on the basis of style, content, and communication. Practice is highly recommended and sample versions of the PSE and Supplementary Essays along with more information can be found
here.
Upper-Year Transfer Students |
Queen’s offers a wide range of degree options to transfer students. To be considered an upper-year transfer student you must have attempted a
minimum of 24 units at another university or college. Although it depends on the program, a transfer student needs a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.6. However, meeting admission requirements does not guarantee admission. For all programs, upper-year transfer applicants will be able to apply between
1 February and 1 June for a Fall start. Since space is limited, we encourage students to apply early. For more information on transferring to Queen’s and program requirements click
