Queen's Sailing's Anna Powick and Andrew Kenny to compete at FISU World University Championship Sailing

Queen's Sailing's Anna Powick and Andrew Kenny will be competing at the 2026 FISU World University Championship Sailing taking place in Croatia from September 25 to October 3.

Over five days of racing, Powick (Smith Engineering) and Kenny (Politics, Philosophy, Economics) will compete against the top 15 national university sailing teams. The Gaels will be joined on the Canadian team by Richard Rychlik Jr from the University of Toronto and Elsie Gillis from Dalhousie University.

Between the four, they have won 12 separate national and continental championships and were selected from a large pool of Canadian university sailors. Powick is coming off an incredible rooking campaign for the Gaels, where she won Team Rookie of Year as well as national recognition as Rookie and Crew of the Year from the national governing body CICSA (Canadian Intercollege sailing association). Kenny is currently one of the captains of Queen's Sailing, who has a long history of keel boat success on a national and international stage with a North American J105 Championship, multiple Top 5 finishes at VXone Canadians, and is the youngest two-time Canadas Cup winner in history as a part of Team IC37 team defiant.
