Queen's Women's Rugby's Lizzie Gibson, Chloe Daniels named to Canada's Senior Women's Team for Pacific Four Series

Queen's Women's Rugby's Lizzie Gibson and Chloe Daniels who were named to Canada's Senior Women's Rugby Team ahead of the 2026 Pacific Four Series.

Gibson and Daniels join Queen's Women's Rugby Alumna Taylor Perry (Arts & Science) and Sophie de Goede (Commerce) on the national team.

Gibson (Arts & Science) led the OUA in scoring with an incredible 157 points on the season, more than twice the second leading scorer in the conference. Making the point total more impressive is that it was accomplished in just five games as the Gaels won one of their games by forfeiture of the opposing team.

2025 was Gibson's second highest point total in a single season, behind only 2022 when Gibson finished the year with 176. Gibson is Queen's Women's Rugby's all-time leading scorer with 569 career points, surpassing Gaels legends Lauren McEwen (219 career points) and Sophie de Goede (208 career points).

2025 marks Gibson's second year being named the OUA Player of the Year after also winning the award in 2022. Gibson would go on to win the U SPORTS Player of the Year award in 2022 as well, and has also been named the OUA Shiels Division Rookie of the Year, and U SPORTS Rookie of the Year, in 2019.

Along with the major awards Gibson has accumulated, Gibson is also a five-time OUA First Team All-Star (2019, 2022-25) and four-time U SPORTS All-Canadian (2019, 2022-24).

Daniels (Applied Science) signed with Bristol Bears Women in January after a distinguised career with the Gaels that included several international honours.

Daniels played a key role in Canada's silver medal-winning performance at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics with the National Senior Women's Rugby Sevens team, and was awarded Queen's Outstanding Performance of the Year award for the 2024-25 season, recognizing a student-athlete who has brought the most honour and recognition to Queen's University resulting from success in provincial, national and international competition in a twelve month period.

Daniels was also named OUA Rookie of the Year in 2021, a season which Daniels helped the Gaels capture the U SPORTS Women's Rugby Championship.

Daniels spent time with Canda's Sevens program following a rookie season with the Gaels, and finishes their time at Queen's with one national championship, and one OUA championship (2025) in three years with the program.
