Queen's Men's Volleyball defeat Windsor in straight sets to win second straight Forsyth Cup

Queen's Men's Volleyball are OUA champions for the second straight year.

The Gaels defended their conference title with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-23) win over the host Windsor Lancers to capture the Forsyth Cup in Windsor, Ont. Friday night. The straight sets win capped Queen's incredible run in the OUA Playoffs, where the No. 3 seed Gaels didn't drop a single set in the post-season.

Queen's jumped out to an early lead with a strong first set, topping the Lancers by eight points. The second and third sets were tight throughout, with the Gaels managing to hold the edge in both for the championship win.

Nikola Mitrovic (Economics), who was named an OUA Second Team All-Star earlier this week, led the Gaels on offence with game-highs in both points, with 20, and kills, with 17.

Redd Venning (Arts & Science), was second on Queen's in both points, with 10, and kills, with eight. The OUA First Team All-Star also led the Gaels with seven digs in the win.

Chris Zimmerman (Arts), the OUA's Champion of EDI Award recipient this season, also had a tremendous game for Queen's in the win, finishing with a game-high 29 assists. Zimmerman was named the Player of the Game for Queen's.

With the victory, the Gaels captured their second straight Forsyth Cup OUA Championship and 11th in program history.

Queen's will close out their tremendous 2025-26 season next week at the U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship, also hosted by Windsor. Seeding for the national championship tournament will be announced later this weekend.
