Queen's Distance Track earns four medals at OUA Track & Field Championship; Elizabeth Vroom, Jude Wheeler-Dee capture two each

Queen's Distance Track competed at the OUA Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Toronto, Ont. and came away with four medals over the weekend.

The Gaels' Elizabeth Vroom (Engineering) won two medals at the OUA Track & Field Championships this past weekend, capturing the silver medal in the Women's 1,500M event with a final time of 4:25.48, less than two seconds behind the first place finisher from Toronto Varsity Blues. Teammate Caleigh Pribaz (Kinesiology) finished fifth in the event with a time of 4:25.48.

Vroom also captured the bronze medal in the Women's 4X800M event alongside teammates Pribaz, Olivia Hendrikx (Medicine) and Gillian Porter (Applied Science). The team finished with a final time of 9:05.14, less than two seconds behind the second place finishers, Toronto Varsity Blues.

Olivia Baggley (Arts & Science) finished fourth in the Women's 3,000M event with a time of 9:55.28.

On the Men's side, Jude Wheeler-Dee (Chemistry) also captured a silver medal and a bronze medal. Wheeler-Dee finished third in the Men's 1,500M event with a final time of 3:43.37, less than a half second behind the first place finisher from the Guelph Gryphons. Tanner Hueglin (Arts & Science) finished fourth in the race with a time of 3:51.55.

And alongside teammates Hueglin, Ian McCosham (Kinesiology), and Owen Danby (Arts & Science), Wheeler-Dee captured the bronze in the Men's 4X800M event with a final time of 7:39.01, less than two second behind the second place finishers, Toronto Varsity Blues.

Queen's Distance Track will now prepare for the U SPORTS Track & Field Championships in Winnipeg, Man. from March 5-7.
