The Queen's Fencing had strong results at this year's Carleton Invitational Team Tournament held in the Norman Fenn Gymnasium. This year's tournament was the largest ever, with over 120 teams from OUA schools and private clubs in Ontario and Quebec. Queen's fielded 13 teams in the six events

The Queen's Men's Epee A Team of Graham Goodwin, Theo Pos, Jay Solomon, and Nathan Harrison secured Bronze medals for the Gaels on the second day of competition. The epee team went undefeated in poules, besting McMaster and a team of Toronto fencers, ranking 6th overall. They earned a bye into the round of 16 where they faced the Toronto team again, once again defeating them, this time with an even wider margin. In the quarter-finals, the Queen's team faced the third-seeded club from Escrime Mont-Royal but emerged victorious, beating them 45-41. In the semi-finals, Queen's fought hard against Gatineau's Masque de Fer, but were unable to beat the eventual gold medalists.
 
Despite missing several key members of the team due to injury, the Queen's had excellent results in all the events. Saturday's competition featured two top 8 finishes and three top 16s for the Gaels. In Men's Foil, the A Team (Graeme Wood, Ewan Peterson, Pendleton Murray, and Jimmy Lu) finished 7th and the B Team (Brogan Long, Ewan Sutherland, Benjamin Niemi, and Kevin Chengyun Xie) ended just out of the Top 8, coming in 9th overall. The Queen's Women's Epee A Team (Elizabeth Fullerton, Autumn Xinyi Wang, Lillian Liu, and Songyeon Kim) also finished in 9th place and the Men's Sabre A Team (Justin Bhatla, Luigi Burjato, Jack Atkinson, with Filbert Yung) also made the top 8.

On the second day of competition, Queen's secured two additional top 8 finishes and three more top 16s. The Women's Foil A Team, consisting of Sophie Kitson, Sarah Jacobson, Alison Wang, and Annika Kim, finished just outside of the medal rounds coming in 5th overall and the Women's Foil B Team (Shayna Sharma, Cary Tu, Abbi Solomon, with Miranda Hong) had a top 16 finish. In the final event of the weekend, Queen's Women's Sabre divided their members across three teams to provide more experience to the fencers and found success despite the strong competition, with Queen's Women's Sabre A (Tatiana Gayowsky, Alisha Zheng, and Aya El-Awour) finishing 7th and a 12th place finish for Women's Sabre B (Quintyn Zuber, Sara Gharbaoui, Sonia Wu and Julia Robinson) and 13th for the C Team (Joyce Lyn Fox with Aliya Russo and Elika Fazel).

The Queen's Fencing Team now head to the OUA Championships, with the Women's OUAs being hosted by Trent University in Peterborough on January 24th-25th and the Men's OUAs at the University of Waterloo on March 7th-8th.
