Queen's Cross Country had a successful first event of the 2025 season, travelling to Canton, NY on Saturday with the Men's side finishing first overall and the Women's side finishing second overall.
Roman Mironov (Commerce) was the top finisher for the Gaels on the Men's side, finishing second overall with a time of 25:19.8 in the 8K race.Â
Tanner Hueglin (Arts & Science) finished fifth overall with
Jude Wheeler-Dee (Chemistry) crossing the line sixth overall and
Angus Skinner (Education) coming in seventh overall.
Ethan Rashid-Cocker (Business) finished 10th overall for the Gaels.
On the Women's side, the Gaels finished just off the individual podium, with Queen's runners finishing fourth through eighth, led by
Elizabeth Vroom (Engineering) who led the Gaels with a final time of 22:15.0 in the 6K.
Vroom was followed by Oliva Baggley (Arts & Science),
Jasmine Stokes (Applied Science),
Hannah Goodjohn (Health Sciences), and
Madison McDermott.
Queen's Cross Country is back in action next weekend with the Capital XC Challenge in Ottawa, Ont.
