Queen's Men's Curling competed at the 2025 OUA Men's Curling Championship in Guelph, Ont. this past weekend, finishing in fifth place.
The Gaels put up strong performances throughout pool play to finish with a 3-1 record and earning a sport in the quarterfinal match against the defending champions from Wilfrid Laurier University.
In the quarterfinal against the Golden Hawks, it came down to the wire with the Gaels and Golden Hawks trading points in the two final frames. Needing an extra end, Laurier came out on top by a score of 4-3.
The Gaels saw incredible leadership by skipÂ
Jett Gazeley who is in his final year with the program.
"[Jett]Â was consistently great all weekend long and was a great team captain on the ice," said
Grant Schnurr, Queen's Men's Curling Team Captain.
Another highlight for the Gaels was SecondÂ
Kaamraan Islam who was honoured as an OUA Second Team All-Star, a seleciton from all competing teams based on performance and team contribution through the qualifying rounds.
