Queen's Men's Rugby bounced back from last week's defeat with a narrow 25-24 win over the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday.
The Gaels struck early, with tries from
Eric Godden (Mechanical Engineering) in the opening minute and
Trekker James (Arts & Science) in the 18th, with
Noah Merkur (Kinesiology) adding a key conversion. Waterloo responded, tying the game 12-12 by halftime with two tries of their own.
In the second half, Queen's surged ahead with tries from
Michael Gyles (Applied Science) and Matt Carroll (Arts & Science), only for Waterloo to claw back and briefly take the lead 24-22. The game was ultimately decided in the 76th minute when
Ben Greenstein (Life Sciences) calmly slotted a penalty kick, sealing the victory for the Gaels.
Now 2-1 on the season, Queen's returns home next Saturday for a matchup against the RMC Paladins, looking to build momentum from their thrilling win.
