KINGSTON, Ont. (June 19, 2024) – Queen's Football offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach
Tom Flaxman has left the program after five years and four seasons to join the Acadia Axemen as associate coach, offensive coordinator, and recruiting.
Flaxman joined Queen's Football in 2019, and helped the team reach back-to-back OUA Yates Cup championships in 2021 and 2022.
"We are excited for coach Flaxman and his new opportunity. He will soon have the opportunity to help lead his alma mater, which is always a special honour," said Queen's Football Head Coach
Steve Snyder. "We are grateful for his commitment to Queen's; over the past five years, he has done an outstanding job.
"It's a sign of great things here at Queen's when other schools hire our coaches to help lead their programs."
Queen's Football has a combined 18-4 regular season record since the return from COVID-19, and Queen's has consistently been one of the top ranked offences in the conference.
Under Flaxman, Queen's Football's offence finished second in both points per game (37.5) and yarder per game (466.5) in 2022, and second in points per game (28.7) in 2021. And last year, Flaxman helped running back
Jared Chisari lead the country and break Queen's Football's single-season rushing yards record, surpassing Mike Giffin's 1,157 yards from the 2007 season, with 1,178 yards on the ground while adding seven touchdowns.
A former running back, Flaxman finished his collegiate career with Acadia, capturing consecutive Atlantic University Sport titles in 2005 and 2006.
