Queen’s Rowing earns eight gold, seven silver, and three bronze at Head of the Trent Regatta

Queen's Rowing had a successful first regatta of the 2024 season, picking up 18 medals total at the Head of the Trent Regatta, including eight golds, seven silvers, and three bronze medals.

The Gaels won golds in the Women's Lightweight 1X, Women's Lightweight 4+, Women's 8+, and Women's JV 4+ on the Women's side, and Men's Lightweight 1X, Men's Lightweight 2X, Men's Lightweight 4+, and Men's Lightweight 8+ on the Men's side.

Julia Teixeira won gold in the Women's Lightweight 1X.

Jess Stephenson, Isi Ferguson, Gillian Jansen, Brigitte Gaudert, and Julia Teixeira won gold in the Women's Lightweight 4+.
 
Nicole Schmidt, Claire Ellison, Jacquie Groenewegen, Abby Speirs, Julia Schuurmans, Ceilidh MacDonald, Emerson Wehmeyer, Bryn Bain, and Kaija Erickson won gold in the Women's 8+.
 
And Jess Stephenson, Sophie Robbins, Izzy Geiger, Emma Shimizu, and Sophie Aspinall won gold in the Women's JV 4+.

Nigel Radhakrishnan won gold in the Men's Lightweight 1X.

Lucas Celia and Liam Shapland won gold in the Men's Lightweight 2X.
 
Lauren Schwandt, Lucas Celia, Nigel Radhakrishnan, Leo Biancaniello and Liam Shapland won gold in the Men's Lightweight 4+.
 
Lauren Schwandt, Lucas Celia, Nigel Radhakrishnan, Leo Biancaniello, Liam Shapland, Kieran Fitzpatrick, Markus Muller, Andrew Schrompf, and Dennis Ovdiyenko won gold in the Men's Lightweight 8+.
 
The Gaels won silver in the Women's Lightweight 2-, Women's Lightweight 2X Women's 2-, Women's 4+, and Women's JV 2X.

Emma Shimizu and Izzy Geiger won silver in the Women's Lightweight 2-.
 
Gillian Jansen and Isi Ferguson won silver in the Women's Lightweight 2X.
 
Claire Ellison and Jacquie Groenewegen won silver in the Women's 2-.
 
Nicole Schmidt, Abby Speirs, Ceilidh MacDonald, Emerson Wehmeyer, and Kaija Erickson won silver in the Women's 4+.
 
Alexis McLaughlin and Jenny Hambly won silver in the Women's JV 2X.
 
Andrew Schrompf and Dennis Ovdiyenko won silver in the Men's Lightweight 2X.
 
Sean O'Connor, Elliott Curtis-Young, Josh Leung, Connor Dickson, and Jackson Schwandt won silver in the Men's JV 4+.
 
Julia Schuurmans won bronze in the Women's 1X.

And Tom Stender won bronze in the Men's 1X while Markus Muller and Kieran Fitzpatrick won bronze in the Men's Lightweight 2-.

Queen's Rowing returns to the water for the Brock Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
