Queen's Men's Ultimate won all six games in Hamilton, Ont. over the weekend, while Queen's Field Hockey earned their first win of the season and Queen's Women's Lacrosse added two more big wins to their record.
Queen's Men's Ultimate
Queen's Men's Ultimate went 6-0 over the weekend in Hamilton, Ont. The Gaels defeated Toronto 13-2, York 13-2, Brock 13-1, McMaster 13-4, Waterloo 13-5 in the semifinals, and Guelph 11-10 in the final.
The Gaels took a dominant road to the finals only trailing for one point through the first five games.
Against Guelph, Queen's came out firing earning 3 breaks on their first five opportunities and taking a 7-3 lead into half. The Gryphons battled, back scoring two breaks of their own, but it wasn't enough as the time cap clipped their wings, ending the game 11-10. With the win, the Gaels earned a berth to the Nationals where they will compete look to get back on the podium.
Stand out performances came from third year captain Tyler Gunasekera to steady the offensive line and slice through Guelph's defence. Gaels rookies Kohl Millitz and Kai Huang had some big plays in big moments, helping on both sides of the disc.
With another tournament next weekend, the squad will spend their time refining systems and building chemistry to take on the best teams in the country.
Queen's Field Hockey
Queen's Field Hockey travelled to Hamilton, Ont. on Saturday to take on the McMaster Marauders. The Gaels defensive line was strong and full of great communication. In the midfield, players passed the ball with ease and force. The forward line had many chances to score, including many short corners. Unfortunately, the Gaels came up short 1-0.
On Sunday, the Gaels started out with an unmatched intensity at home against the Western Mustangs. Queen's took home their first win of the season. Congrats to

Queen's Women's Lacrosse
Queen's Women's Lacrosse opened their games Sunday against the Trent Excalibur. The Excalibur got off to a quick start, as they opened the scoring and took a quick 3-1 lead.
Abby Lee and Sophia Wilson would score in the final two minutes of the quarter to knot the game at 3 early.
Queen's would go on a run, as Tara Meikle, Lee and Brooke Rutledge gave the Gaels a three-goal cushion. They carried that spread into the half with a 7-4 lead.
The third quarter was a defensive battle, but Queen's managed to stretch their lead to four. The fourth quarter was all Gaels, as Meikle would assist on goals from Wilson and two from Charlotte Sawicki. Queen's won the game by a final score of 12-6.
The second game of the day was against the host, Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. Ontario Tech opened the scoring, but Queen's would rattle off six first quarter goals and not look back. Building up a 14-2 lead by halftime, the Gaels would secure a 19-4 win. Abby Lee and Kiara Mckelvey would score four goals a piece to lead the offense.
Queen's will carry a 6-0 record into their bye weekend and will not be back in action until traveling to McMaster on October 14.
Queen's Golf
Queen's Golf competed in the McMaster Invitational in Hamilton, Ont. and the Brock Invitational in St. Catharines, Ont. this weekend.
The Men's team won the McMaster Invitational while
Daniel Abraha was the Gaels' top finisher, tied for third at +2 on the day.
At the Brock Invitational, the Women's team finished third overall with a combined score of 256, just three strokes behind Laurier, who finished second, and 10 strokes behind Toronto, who won the tournament with a score of 246.
Kate Neville was Queen's top finisher on the Women's side, finishing seventh overall with a score of 84.
The Men's team finished fourth overall with a combined score of 312, just two strokes behind Laurier, who finished third with a combined score of 310.
Kendrick Webster was the Gaels' top finisher on the Men's side, finishing tied for eighth overall with a score of 76.
