Queen's Football QB Alex Vreeken to participate in CFL QB Internship with Hamilton Tiger-Cats

KINGSTON, Ont. (May 5, 2023) - Queen's Football quarterback Alex Vreeken will participate in the Canadian Football League (CFL) QB Internship with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats later this month.

Vreeken (Kingston, Ont.) was one of nine quarterbacks from across the country invited to participate in the CFL Internship. He will head to Tiger-Cats Rookie and Training Camp starting on May 10.

Vreeken will hone his skills alongside Ticats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, a two-time CFL Most Outstanding Player award winner, among others. He will participate in practices and attend team and positional meetings during his time with the Ticats.

Vreeken appeared in 11 games with six starts last season, regular season and OUA Playoffs combined, finishing the year with 1,337 passing yards and six passing touchdowns, while adding another five touchdowns on the ground.

Queen's Football will kick off their season with an exhibition game against the McGill Redbirds on Friday, Aug. 18, before opening the regular season the next week at Richardson Stadium, hosting the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 3 p.m.
