KINGSTON, Ont. (March 7, 2023) - Queen's Men's Volleyball's Chris Zimmerman was named the OUA Rookie of the Year for the 2022-23 season. The OUA announced the conference's major award winners and All-Stars on Tuesday.

Zimmerman (Prince George, B.C.) helped Queen's Men's Volleyball finish the year fifth in the OUA with an 11-9 record, finishing the season in the Top 10 in assists per set, ninth overall averaging 8.08.

"I'm extremely proud of Chris Zimmerman's accomplishments this season, he is undoubtedly deserving of the OUA Rookie of the Year award," said Gaels Head Coach Gabe deGroot. "Chris was able to have an immediate impact on our team's success by bringing the best out of his teammates. As a young setter, he has quickly adapted to the tactical and systematic game at the university level. I can't wait to see what Chris' future holds and the successes he will have with our program in the future."

Zimmerman also recorded with an impressive 1.39 digs per set this past season.
