Gaels' Duncan Campbell named OUA Randy Gregg Award recipient for community service

KINGSTON, Ont. (March 9, 2023) - Queen's Men's Hockey's Duncan Campbell was named the Randy Gregg Award recipient for the OUA East Division the conference announced Thursday.

The OUA announced their major award winners and All-Stars for the 2022-23 season on Thurdsay, with Campbell recognized as the Randy Gregg Award recipient for commuity service.

"Duncan Campbell epitomizes what it is to be a student-athlete," said Head Coach Brett Gibson. "He is as dedicated in the arena as he is in the classroom; add on his community work in Kingston and he is a very deserving candidate for the prestigious Randy Gregg Award."

A fifth-year student-athlete who is attending teachers' college at Queen's, Campbell is a five-time Academic All-Canadian. A leader on and off the ice and assistant captain with the Gaels, Campbell volunteers his time away from the rink with Good Food Box Kingston, a non-profit fruit and vegetable distribution program that provides monthly access to fresh produce boxes throughout the community of Kingston and surrounding area.

Campbell also works with new Canadian youth group, spending time with Syrian refugees, talking to them about their transition to Canada and teaching them how to play road hockey.
