KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 7, 2023) - Ten Queen's Football players were named OUA All-Stars for the 2023 season, the conference announced Tuesday.

Offensive linemen Ryan Berta, Evan Floren, and Theo Grant, running back Jared Chisari, H-Back Niklas Henning, defensive lineman Darien Newell, defensive back Ashton Miller-Melancon, and Special Teams ace Raheem Balogun Jr. were all OUA named First Team All-Stars, while defensive end Van Wishart and linebacker Justin Pace were named OUA Second Team All-Stars.

Berta (Hamilton, Ont.), Floren (Ancaster, Ont.), and Grant (Halifax, N.S.) were all part of an offensive line that paved the way for the conference's leading rushing offence, with Queen's finishing atop the OUA with 1,938 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns in the regular season.

Chisari (Naples, ME) broke Queen's Football's single-season rushing yards record, surpassing Mike Giffin's 1,157 yards from the 2007 season, with an incredible total of 1,178 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns. Chisari, who was also named an OUA Offensive Player of the Week during the 2023 season, also broke Queen's Football's single-game record for touchdowns with five against the York Lions.

Henning (Milton, Ont.) was a force in both the run and pass game at the H-Back position for Queen's, and finished the season with five receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Newell (Brampton, Ont.), who started the season playing in the U SPORTS East-West Bowl in the spring, earned a second straight OUA All-Star nod after finishing the season 23 tackles (20 solo, six assisted), 4.5 sacks, and eight tackles for a loss.

Miller-Melancon (Dorval, Que.) also earned a second straight OUA All-Star nod after finishing the 2023 season with 22.5 tackles (19 solo, seven assisted), and two interceptions.

Balogun Jr. (Brmpton, Ont.), who also plays defensive back on defence for Queen's, earned a second straight OUA All-Star nod on Special Teams.

Wishart (Courtice, Ont.) was another force along the Queen's Football defensive line all season long, earning a Second Team All-Star nod after finishing the year with 26.5 tackles (18 solo, 17 assisted), and five sacks, with an additional two sacks in the post-season.

Pace (St-Lambert, Que.) had a breakout season at inside linebacker for Queen's Football in 2023, finishing the year with 35 tackles (29 solo, 12 assisted) and four tackles for a loss.
