Queen's Football's
Rasheed Tucker and
Anthony Federico were named OUA First-Team All-Stars for the 2021 season, while
Josh Mosley and
Ashton Miller-Melancon were named Second-Team OUA All-Stars.
The OUA
released their 2021 All-Stars on Wednesday, with four Gaels players earning the honour.
Tucker (Ajax, Ont.) finished the regular season second in the OUA in rushing with 114 carries for 697 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named the Canadian Football Perspective OUA Offensive Player of the Week twice during the regular season.
"
Rasheed Tucker is a special talent that is a gifted runner of the football and a tough runner of the football," said Queen's Football Head Coach
Steve Snyder. "I think he'd be the first to praise his offensive line and the blockers in front of him at the other positions that have opened doors for him to have a very special season."
Tucker has added another 48 carries for 359 yards and four touchdowns in the OUA Playoffs so far, being named the Canadian Football Perspective OUA Offensive Player of the Week both weeks as well.
Federico (Niagara Falls, Ont.) led the OUA with seven sacks in the regular season, while also recording 25 tackles.
"Anthony is a true force on the edge with his length and his technical ability," said Snyder. "What a leader he's been this year, taking charge of that defensive line. This is something we expected from him because he is a very talented player that has put together two really solid seasons now as a pass rusher and an edge player."
Mosley (Port Colborne, Ont.) was part of the Gaels' offensive line that helped the team finish first in the OUA East and third in the OUA in rushing, averaging 168 yards per game.
"Our football program is and will continue to be built around the line of scrimmage and Josh is a staple there for us," said Snyder. "Physically on the field he's playing at a high level but his leadership and his reliability and how much he's respected by his teammates for his character, Josh is truly one of the real high character human beings in the country playing at this level. That needs to be acknowledged. At the same time, for all the leadership and character he has off the field, what a special year he's had physically. He's played at a very high level."
Miller-Melancon (Montreal, Que.) was also named an OUA All-Rookie on Tuesday. Miller-Melancon led the league in interceptions with four in the regular season, while also recording 27 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
"He led the country in interceptions and continued to play at a high level in the playoff run and continue to intercept balls in these playoff games," said Queen's Football Head Coach
Steve Snyder. "He's a player that has started every game and he's played multiple positions and he's capable of playing any position in the secondary. I trully believe it's hard to think of a rookie in the country that has played at a higher level than him."
Miller-Melancon has added another 13 tackles, one forced fumble, and two interceptions in the OUA Playoffs, helping the Gaels remain undefeated and advancing to the Yates Cup.
