The Queen's Gaels are looking for redemption in 2019, following a nearly perfect season that ended in their lone defeat against the UBC Thunderbirds in the Canadian University Rugby championship final.

In 2018, the Gaels had an undefeated 8-0 regular season winning all eight matches and never trailed in any game. Last year's team also boasted five Gaels all-stars Patrick Lynott, Lachlan Devir, Nicholas De Lallo, Brendan Blaikie, and Tristan Ruse.

This year the team will be once again looking to repeat last season's success and aim to win the OUA Championship for the third consecutive season while also having their sights set on hoisting their first Canadian University Rugby championship crown.

The Gaels kick things off this weekend at 4 pm on Saturday when the take on the Toronto Varsity Blues.

We're putting building blocks in place and we've got to look at the profile of our team and play a style that's complementary to the players we've got," said head coach David Butcher.
