KINGSTON, Ont. (October 20th, 2018) – The Queen's Gaels Men's Rugby Team (8-0) defeated the McMaster Marauders (4-4) 83-0 at Nixon Field on Homecoming Saturday afternoon.
RUGBY VS CANCER
Each year the Queen's Men's Rugby team makes a significant contribution to breast cancer research by raising funds and participating in the Kingston CIBC Run for the Cure. This year the team is proud to announce that they raised over 31 thousand dollars for breast cancer research. Team captain
Brendan Blaikie presented a special cheque to Kingston Run for the Cure director Dianne Sabourin prior to the match and was joined by the Queen's Rugby seconds team who are wearing Rugby vs Cancer kits in support of the cause. Sabourin also announced that for the 7th consecutive year, Queen's University was named the top fundraising post-secondary school.
GAME FLOW
This was a match that the Gaels thoroughly dominated from start to finish, opening up a 19-0 lead inside the first 15 minutes and never looking back. Queen's scrumhalf
Dylan Young had one try and six conversions while Gaels try-leader Nick DeLallo added four tries of his own.

Trevor Helgason scored a great open field try and set up another.
At full time, the final score was 83-0 in favour of the Gaels, giving them their second straight undefeated regular season.

David Butcher spoke on preparing for the playoffs: "We're going to go quite hard this week, but the guys will get three days off. Then we're going to treat the following week like any week moving into a game. I think it will be Waterloo we'll be playing, so we're already looking at some strategies around how we want to play against them."
