Women's Rugby
After absolutely dominating the quarter-final round with a 109-0 sweep against Trent, the No.8 Queen's women's rugby team has earned a spot in the OUA semifinal game this Friday.

In a battle of two nationally ranked squads, Friday's matchup will take place in Hamilton against the No.7 McMaster Marauders who finished second in the OUA and 3-1 on the season. The last time that Queen's faced the Marauders was during the Gaels last regular season game on September 23. On the day, the score fell in McMaster's favour 21-15 at Nixon Field despite a late tricolour push for a try.

Look for Gaels rookie Sophie de Goede (Victoria) to have another big performance for Queen's when they need her most. The OUA Female Athlete of the Week was an offensive force for Queen's during the quarter-final round scoring four tries and three conversions.

Men's Hockey
The Queen's men's hockey team is set for their season home opener this Friday, when they will host the Laurentian Voyageurs at the Memorial Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.

Preseason preparation had the Gaels on the road for most of their exhibition play leading up to opening weekend.

Last Friday, the tricolour shut out the Gee-Gees 3-0 in Ottawa. Ryan Bloom, Eric Ming and Slater Doggett all scored for the Gaels with Kevin Bailie and Jacob Brennan splitting duties between the pipes. Before that, the Gaels faced off against the University of Massachusetts in Amerherst, MA, and had a double header against the UBC Thunderbirds in Vancouver.

A quick turnaround will have the Queen's men's hockey team back on the ice on Saturday night when they welcome UOIT. Game time is set for 7:30pm.

Admission for students is free. For tickets to the home opener, head to www.gogaelsgo.com/tickets.

Cross Country
The No.1 women's and No. 5 men's cross country team will be back on the road again this weekend as they travel to Hamilton to compete in the Marauder Bayfront Open hosted by McMaster University.

September 29 was the last time that the tricolour hit the course to compete. On the day, the Gaels travelled south of the border to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the 44th annual Paul Short Run presented by Asics – a meet that saw Gaels duo Branna MacDougall (Kingston, Ont.) and Claire Sumner (Calgary) finish fourth and sixth respectively.

The women's team will look to continue their strong campaign and preserve their national top spot going into the McMaster race, while the men's team will look to climb the ranks. The Hamilton meet will be the last invitational for the Gaels cross country team before the OUA Championships on October 28.

Women's Soccer
The Gaels women's soccer team (8-3-1) will look to bounce back from their road loss against then No.7 Ottawa this Friday when they visit their cross-town rival RMC Paladins under the lights at RMC. Kick-off is set for 7:30 pm.

The Gaels will see back-to-back action against RMC (0-12-0) this weekend with a Sunday match following Friday's game. The women's soccer team will celebrate Senior's Day before Sunday's match to commemorate their graduating players in a short ceremony. To add to the festivities, it will be head coach Dave McDowell's 500th game behind the Queen's soccer bench.

Watch for Gaels forwards Laura Callendar and Jenny Wolever – together, the offensive duo combine for 15 goals. Both Callendar and Wolever sit at the top of the OUA leaderboard in scoring and assists respectively.

Admission to all games is free.

Women's Hockey
The Gaels women's hockey team will begin their OUA regular season on the road at UOIT on Saturday before returning to Kingston for their home opener at the Memorial Centre on October 28 against Guelph.

The last time these two teams met was during the regular season last year when the Gaels fell to the Ridgebacks 3-1. Last year, Queen's finished with a 16-14 record as compared to the 9-15 finish for UOIT.

Watch the game live at 3:30 pm Saturday on OUA.tv.

Men's Rugby
The Queen's men's rugby team will look to cap off their perfect home record this season when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues (1-5) in their final home regular season game on Saturday at Nixon Field. Game time is set for 1 pm.

Boasting a 6-0 record coming into Saturday's matchup, the men's rugby team has had quite the season as the only undefeated team at Queen's.

It's been a while since the Gaels have faced off against U of T. The last time these two teams met was during the 2015 regular season when the Gaels toppled the Varsity Blues 83-5 at Nixon Field.

Gaels standout Kainoa Lloyd will be absent from the game as he is representing the Canada 'A' team in Uruguay for the Americas Pacific Challenge. That being said, a deep pool of talent has contributed to the 320 total points scored by Queen's thus far - 110 more than second spot McMaster.

Keep an eye out for Alex Colborne. The third year centre will look lead the Gaels like he leads the OUA – Colborne stands at the top of the conference with five tries and 16 conversions for 60 points.

Men's Soccer
For a consecutive weekend, the Gaels men's soccer team (4-5-3) will hit the road again, this time travelling to Peterborough to take on the Trent Excalibur (3-5-4).

The Queen's squad will look to recover from a tough 2-0 road loss to then No.4 Carleton (11-1-2). With four games remaining, the Gaels will look to push for points as they fight for playoff contention deep into the season.

Earlier this season, Queen's drew 2-2 to the Excalibur at Richardson Stadium. Currently, Trent trails Queen's by just two points in the OUA East conference standings.

Following Saturday's match, the Gaels will return to home to Richardson Stadium where they will host cross-town rivals RMC (0-9-3) on Sunday at 3:15 pm. Joining the women's soccer team in Senior's Day, the men's soccer team will also honor their graduating players before kick-off.

Admission to all games is free.

Rowing
The Queen's rowing team is set to compete in the Brock University Regatta this weekend in St. Catharines.

The Gaels will look to build off performances from the the Head of the Trent regatta in Peterborough. Their last regatta saw first place finsihes from Louise Munro on the women's side and the duo of Nick Grubic and Alex Bernst on the men's side. The Brock regatta will be the final invitational before the OUA Championships at the end of the month,
