Canada claimed silver at the FISU Sevens Championships in Swansea, Wales, after falling 31-5 to France in Saturday's final. Canada had gone 4-0 in the pool stages and beat China 7-5 in the cup semis before falling to France in the final.
 

DAY 1:

Canada went a perfect 2-0 on Day 1 of the FISU Sevens Championships after wins over Portugal and Spain.

Canada opened its account with a 14-12 win over Portugal before concluding the day with a 17-5 victory over Spain.

DAY 2:

Canada concluded a perfect pool at the FISU Sevens Championships after wins over Australia and China on Day 2.

Canada opened the day with an emphatic 36-0 over Australia before a tight 19-17 win over China.

DAY 3:

It would be a silver medal for Canada at the FISU Sevens Championships after a 31-5 loss to France in the cup final. Canada trailed 19-5 at the break but were unable to mount a comeback in the second half resulting in a second-place finish.

Earlier in the day, Canada squeezed past China 7-5 in torrential rain to advance to the cup final.
