Montreal, Que. (October 14, 2016) - The Queen's women's volleyball team is in Montreal this weekend for the McGill Invitational tournament.

Sunday
vs Saint Mary's W 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21)
The Gaels finished off the tournament taking the bronze medal match in a clean sweep 3-0 over Saint Mary's. After losing to the Huskies on Friday the Gaels got their revenge in the medal round taking them out in straight sets.
Saturday
vs Brock W 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-12)
The Gaels picked up their first win of the McGill Invitational Saturday afternoon against the only fellow OUA opponent at in Montreal this weekend, the Brock Badgers.Â
Brock put up a fight in the first set, but Queen's earned the 25-21 win. The tricolour looked dominant in the second and third sets, limiting the Badgers to just 14 and 12 points, respectively.
vs Montreal L 0-3 (25-20, 25-16, 25-19)
Queen's had a tough afternoon against a strong Montreal team, falling to the Carabins in straight sets.
The Gaels kept it close in the first set, making it to the 20 point mark before Montreal finished off the set. Montreal also got the better of Queen's in the second set, 25-16. The tricolour rallied in the third set, but couldn't comeback to force a fourth, falling 25-19 in final set.
Friday
vs McGill L 1-3 Â (25-21, 19-25, 25-11, 25-21)
The Gaels started off the McGill Invitational against the host team, who coincidentally, is the last team the Gaels faced at their own invitational tournament.
After dropping a close opening set 25-21 the Gaels rallied in the second taking it 25-19. McGill took control from there with a dominant 25-11 third set win followed by a 25-21 decision in the fourth to close out the match.
vs Saint Mary's L 2-3  (23-25, 27-25, 25-10, 22-25, 15-13)
The Gaels got off on the right foot later on Friday as they met the Saint Mary's Huskies. Queen's narrowly edged the AUS team 25-23 to take a 1-0 lead. Needing extra points in the second, things fell the way of the Huskies at 27-25. Again the third set proved difficult for Queen's who fell 25-10. After the Gaels edged out a win in another close set this time 25-22 the match went to a fifth and final frame.
The Huskies took a 15-13 win in a final close set and took the match 3-2.
