OSHAWA, Ont. (October 25, 2015) - The Queen's Gaels women's lacrosse team defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 10-8 to win the OUA bronze medal at the 2015 OUA Championship and head coach Pat Bolland was named OUA coach of the year.

Queen's headed into the OUA Championship ranked first in the Eastern Conference. After a satisfying 16-5 win over McMaster, Queen's faced Brock, a team they'd beaten a week earlier. The results were not as favorable, and neither was the weather, as Brock won 9-4 and bumped the Gaels out of the gold medal game. 

In the bronze medal game, Queen's managed to pull out an exciting 10-8 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks. Tied 6-6 in the second half, the Gaels managed to score four straight goals to build a sizable lead. Laurier would fight back with two goals of their own, but failed to score in the final ten minutes of the game.

Defender Shannon O'Connor and midfielder Shelby O'Ryan were awarded 1st team OUA All-stars and midfielder Gwyn Ross and defender Carley Cummings 2nd team. Coach Pat Bolland won OUA Coach of the Year.
