HAMILTON (October 9, 2014) - The Queen's Gaels women's volleyball team is in Hamilton at the McMaster-Mizuno volleyball invitational tournament this Thursday to Saturday.

The Gaels needed five sets but managed to dispatch of the Guelph Gryphons to open up the McMaster-Mizuno tournament on a winning note. Set scores finished 25-20, 13-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-10 for the Gaels in a back-and-forth contest that looked like it could have gone either way. With the win the Gaels advance to the semifinal scheduled for 6pm on Friday night where they will meet the host Marauders who defeated the RMC Paladins 3-0 in straght sets.

In the other semifinal Toronto will meet York after the Varsity Blues won in straight sets over Nipissing and the Lions followed suit dropping Waterloo in similar fashion.
