Gaels fall to undefeated Ravens

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (September 28, 2010) - After a three game win streak, the Queen's Gaels lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to the undefeated No. 6 Carleton Ravens at Richardson Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

The game was an intense match as the Gaels attempted to steal a win from the top ranked team in the OUA East. Despite a strong effort from both teams the game was scoreless at the end of the first half.

That all changed, however, when Carleton midfielder, Joey Kewin of London, Ont., was able to put one past the Gaels' keeper in the 70th minute of play.

The Gaels spent the remainder of the game attempting to tie the score, including a late minute free kick from Michael Arnold of London, Ont., that was sent just inches over the cross bar. The final score was left at 1-0 for the Ravens.

The loss brings the Gaels' record to 4-3-1. The Gaels met the Ravens earlier this season to a 2-0 loss.

Queen's next game is in Kingston against RMC Paladins at 3:15 pm next Saturday afternoon.
